“the driveways, patched up here and there with broken bricks…” W. G. Sebald inserted almost 100 images into his third prose fiction The Rings of Saturn but our trip to East Anglia in the fall of 2004 hinted at an equal number of images that must have sat on his writing table. At times, it felt like our cameras were writing the novel instead of the late author especially when our trove of captured “hidden images” was discovered once we returned home.
